american modernity
belly band book
An untraditional book in quite a few ways, the most obvious being the binding method, or lack thereof. Lester Beall's simple, colorful, and geometric designs evoked an inspiration of late 80s punk zine culture in juxtaposition, with its often limited color palette, immense detail, and dense basic typographic. This book is an anti-homage of sorts to Beall, in that it's probably everything he specifically did not stand for.
